The Cinnamon Pearl baby blanket makes the perfect gift for new parents or pet parents. With an engaging but easy to memorize pattern, this meditative knit is the perfect way to unwind.

Use softer colors for a gentle or more neutral look or use higher contrast colors to give those new baby’s eyes something to focus on. The worsted weight yarn gives this blanket lots of squishy fabric for little hands and provides different textures for them to explore. The brioche stitch patterns make it extra stretchy to wrap around the baby as they grow and gives them a nice soft area for tummy time.

Overview
This blanket is knit flat using two color brioche stitches. Each row is knit in two passes– once with color A, and once with color B.

Gauge
Because this is a small blanket, gauge is not as important. Feel free to play around with gauge. Increasing your needle size will make the blanket bigger and the fabric less dense and more drape-y. Decreasing your needle size will make the blanket smaller and more dense with less space between the stitches.

Materials
Yarn
I suggest using either acrylic or superwash wool to make an easy to care for blanket. Babies (and pets) can be messy, and we can’t always be counted on to remember special care instructions after a big mess.

The sample was knit using Knit Picks Brava Worsted in Gingerbread (as color A) and Almond (as color B).

Color A: 360 yards
Color B: 320 yards
