Cinnamon Spice Mitts
The Cinnamon Spice Mitts are a beginner friendly pattern simple enough a beginner can do it, complex enough an experienced crocheter can stay interested!
These mitts use a simple stitch with a slight twist to it making these mitts look a bit “knit like” without having to go through the trouble of learning how to knit!
Find a video tutorial on my channel for removing your seams on your crochet work
When creating the Cinnamon Spice Mitts my goal was to have fingerless mitts that were thick and warm (use an animal fiber for maximum warmth) but something I have seen in other mitts including ones I have made myself is the hole for the thumb, if you take a look at your hand the thumb extends out from your hand it’s not “just there” and so it gave me the idea that maybe I didn’t just need to make a hole for the thumb but I needed to give the mitts some extra fabric, So, with the Cinnamon Spice Mitts I took the time to do some experiments in creating what we call a thumb gusset, you see it alot in knitted mitts but not always in crocheted mitts and so I wanted to take the time to figure things out!
And I have to say, the pair I made and ALL of the pairs my testers made, EVERYONE loves them! and I am sure you will too!
and with 5 different sizes you’re sure to find the size you’re looking for!
Note: if you find yourself to be an in between size or maybe you’re making these for a man who’s hands are a bit larger, (more sizes are to come) this pattern is very adaptable and easy to adjust the size to fit your need!
