The Cinoche Socks are knitted from the toe to the ankle and adorned with lovely vertical stripes created using the mosaic technique. The heel is worked in German short rows to achieve a beautifully rounded shape without holes. The sock is finished with a pretty, ultra-soft double border embellished with popcorn stitches reminiscent of the snack of the same name.

Did you know? Popcorn has been a staple in movie theaters since the 1930s. After the Great Depression, cinemas added it to their food offerings to increase profits. “Cinoche” is a colloquial term used in Canadian French slang to refer to a movie theater or cinema.

Why am I talking about approximate yarn quantities? Foot lengths differ from person to person and influence the amount of yarn required to complete the project. The yarn quantities required are calculated for an average foot length. If you have VERY long feet, you may need a little more yarn.

Les Chaussettes Cinoche sont tricotées de la pointe à la cheville et son ornées de jolies rayures verticales crées à l’aide de la technique mosaïque.
