Circus
Circus is a crescent shaped shawl with garter stitch and eyelets, spreading out to curved ends generated by a picot border. The sections of garter stitch make for a relaxing knitting experience, as do the eyelets. An adventurous beginner will find the pattern easy to memorize but will keep seasoned knitters interested.
Yarn Used:
Birch Tree Fiber Arts Co. Rock n Roll Sock (80% Superwash Merino/ 20% Nylon, 400 yds / 100g skein); 3 skeins used
The sample used the colors CC1=Provence, CC2=Myrtle & CC3=Spice Market.
Yardage:
The sample used most of each skein.
Needles:
US 4 (3.50mm) circular, 60”. You can start the project with a shorter cord, but you will want the longer cord as the project grows.
Gauge:
Not required for this project, but will affect the amount of yarn required to complete the project based on your tension.
Size:
One size only
Special Techniques:
Increases using kyok (k1, yo, k1) in 1 stitch
Decreases using k2tog
Picot bind off
Final Measurements:
Wingspan of shawl: 95”after blocking
Depth of shawl: 16” after blocking
