Of all nerd related fandoms, shows and video games with fierce female characters are my favorite. In The Witcher – a book, video game, and tv series – Ciri (short for Cirella) is just 12 years old when her only remaining family member, her grandmother, dies. Ciri’s life is in danger, and she sets off to find Geralt, a rather grouchy witcher she is tied to by destiny. Ciri is elegant and gentle, but also scrappy and incredibly determined. She is the inspiration for this light lace shawl.

Using fingering weight single-ply yarn and a 4.5 mm hook, the Ciri Shawl is delicate, ethereal, and adds a touch of elegance to any outfit.

The Ciri Shawl is designed to use two skeins of fingering weight yarn to produce a medium sized asymmetrical shawl, but includes modification options so that it can be made both smaller and larger. This pattern is worked flat in turned rows starting from the smallest point of the triangle and increasing until pattern measurements or desired size is obtained.

This pattern uses approximately 800-850 yards of fingering weight yarn.
