Citrine
This is a small shawl bordering on a neckerchief that can be knit into a much larger shawl.
Alpaca, merino and sock yarn will work fine as a substitute for the wool I used. Use super-wash wool if you want to do some serious blocking.
Instead of cotton, linen and silk should work well with the pattern too.
The wool shawl has a gauge of : 20 x 34 stitches
And is 120 x 50 cm
The cotton shawl has a gauge of : 20 x 30 stitches
And is 120 x 52 cm
The gauge is only a guide. make sure the size of the knitting needle is suitable for you yarn. A slightly larger needle size than is suggested on the yarn jacket is recommended.
If you want a larger shawl, continue knitting chart C to the size you want.
Make sure you have enough yarn for 4 rows before you cast-off / bind-off.
The patterns contains charts with minimal written instructions.
There is a photo tutorial of how to do the tab cast-on included in the pattern on the last page.
To knit this you need to know how to:
Read charts
Cast-on with backward loops
Knit
Purl
K2tog (knit 2 together)
K2togtbl ( knit 2 together through the back loop) or ssk
Kfb (knit front and back)
If you are new to knitting with charts
Beginning with chart A, row 3 :

I am sorry, I will not offer this as a totally written pattern. Here is the main pattern repeat written down for those who still want to try (it is now included in the pattern):
It starts on the row that has 23 at the end :
The chart reads from right to left.
1) YO, k, YO, ssk, ssk, purl 9, k2 tog, k2tog, YO, K, YO,k
2 and all WS) knit or purl as the stitches show
