CITRINE jumper
The CITRINE jumper is a refined textured knit with a modern compound raglan construction. It has a loose fit, with about 10-15 cm (4-8”) positive ease at the bust. The body is cut straight, features a mock neck, and has a generous length. The sleeves are well-proportioned and taper below the elbow, ending with a fitted cuff at the wrist. The unexpected cable details at the neckline, cuffs and raglan lines are an absolute eye catcher and give this jumper a unique character.
The CITRINE jumper and the CITRINE socks are a
vertknit x woollentwine collab.
CONSTRUCTION
This garment is knit top-down in one piece, mostly in the round, using a no-purl rib stitch pattern. For a very elegant neckline, the back is different from the front. The work starts with the neck, in two sections: ribbing and cables. Shoulder shaping is done using German short rows and the yoke is knit in the round, all the while working one cable along each raglan line. At the bottom of the armhole, the sleeves are separated from the body. Each piece is then worked separately and finished with a two-section hem: cables and ribbing.
The pattern includes optional bust shaping using German short rows, alternative A-line waist shaping and instructions on how to work larger sleeves.
KNITTING LEVEL
Intermediate to advanced. This design involves working stitch patterns with different panel sizes simultaneously while following other instructions. The pattern includes step-by-step instructions, explains the used techniques and includes links to video tutorials.

SUGGESTED YARN
woollentwine BFL Masham DK (240 m / 100 g)
5 (5, 5, 5) 6 (6, 6, 6) 6 (7, 7, 7) 7 (8, 8, 8) skeins
or
woollentwine BFL Romney DK (240 m / 100 g)
5 (5, 5, 5) 6 (6, 6, 6) 6 (7, 7, 7) 7 (8, 8, 8) skeins
Because the suggested yarn is hand-dyed, and thus on a higher price category, I kept these estimates as accurate as possible, and added less buffer than usual. If you’re working the last size before the next skein count, and especially if you want to add bust shaping, work the A-line mod or lengthen your sweater, you might want to get an extra skein. I used 1100 m for my size 4 without mods. I recommend alternating between skeins while knitting.
Jule is a Hamburg based fiber artist who creates stunning colorways using natural ingredients. Like with most hand-dyed yarn brands, the colorways on offer change every few months. I used “Golden Hour” (2022), which is making a comeback with her February 2024 shop update!
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
Use the necessary needle sizes to get the given gauge.
You’ll need different sizes circular needles and DPN or shorties.
For the main fabric, I used 3.5 mm (US 4) needles. For the half-twisted rib, I used 2.5 mm (US 1.5). The smaller needle should give you a tight knit neck rib that holds its shape, so you might want to keep it even if you go up in size for the main fabric.
Cable needle (or DPN), sets (3) of stitch markers (4+) of different color/size, removable stitch markers, 2 stitch holders, tapestry needle, measuring tape
