City Limits
Required Skills
Long tail cast on, knitting in the round, simple lace, small cables, three needle bind off, picking up stitches
Finished Bust Size
32 (36, 40, 44) 48, 52, 56 {60, 64, 68}” / 81.3 (91.4, 101.6, 111.8) 121.9, 132.08, 142.2 {152.4, 162.6, 172.7}cm
Suggested Ease
4-6” of positive ease. This is flexible and can be adjusted based on your personal preference. Please bear in mind that if you choose to knit a size with less than 4” ease, you may need to knit your sleeves longer than directed in the pattern. I don’t recommend less than 2” of ease, as drop shoulder sweaters get some of their arm mobility from ease in the fit.
Yarn
The Plucky Knitter, ‘Yakkity’
100% Yak, 325 yds per 100 g
4 (4, 4, 5) 5, 6, 6 {6, 7, 7} skeins
or 1034 (1155, 1276, 1397) 1518, 1639, 1760 {1881, 2002, 2123} yds of a similar light DK weight yarn
A note about yarn substitution: many of my test knitters used sport weight yarn and were able to get gauge. I recommend a heavier sport weight to lighter DK weight when selecting yarn for City Limits.
Needles
US 6 / 4mm or size needed to get gauge
24” circular needle for body
40” circular or DPN’s for sleeves
US 5 / 3.75 mm or one size smaller than needed to get gauge, 16” circular for neckline
Notions

Gauge
Using US 6 / 4mm needle, 21 sts and 30 rows =
4” / 10 cm in stockinette, in the round, after blocking.

Construction Description
City Limits is knit from the bottom up, in the round, with a graphic twisted stitch motif around the bottom half of the body. The front and back are separated at the armholes and worked flat. The shoulders are joined with a three needle bind off, then sleeves stitches are picked up and knit inside out to the cuffs. The neckline stitches are picked up and knit in half twisted rib.
