Civility Sweater
The sweater is knit in the round from the top down, with yarn over raglan increases to the sleeves, which are placed on hold while the body is finished. Each sleeve is then picked up and knit in the round to the chunky ribbed cuffs. The simple ribbed neckline, cuffs, and bottom band are created with extra long 1x1 ribbing, which you can make longer or shorter, depending on how you roll. Options are given for short or long sleeves, as well as a solid color, fluffy version, and stash-busting scrappy version.
The design is timeless and the name supports the idea of bringing kindness, and respectfulness into our everyday behavior. We all need to move through this life together, don’t we?

YARNS:
Fluffy Tan: Rico Design Essentials Soft Merino Aran in color Pebble held together with a DOUBLE strand of Rico Design Essentials Super Kid Mohair Loves Silk in color Grey Brown
Navy Blue: Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky.
Cream multicolor: We Are Knitters The Petite Wool for the entire sweater, held together with two strands of hand dyed fingering yarn throughout. First I incorporated a double strand of fingering weight yarn until I ran out, then I held it together with a hand dyed DK until that was gone. Lastly, I held it with a fingering weight and a mohair for the bottom ribbing. The overall size of the sweater is a bit larger than the blue prototype but it worked out perfectly.
Tan short sleeve: Tahki Hatteras (and the ribbing rows are modified). I knit this body on US 13s and the ribbing on US 11s for a tighter fit.
Go stash diving and use those scraps! Just be sure you get close to the gauge and you’ll be fine! The sweater is oversized, so for a tighter version, you may want to go down a needle size for the body and cuffs if that’s your vibe.
