Clandestine is a triangular shawl of modular construction. It’s worked bottom-up in horizontal rows of elements, and can be knit any size. Each row has one more motif than the previous one. The yarn within the row is continuous; there is no need to break it. With 7 elements on top, it measured 140cm wide X 48 cm tall, and weighted 116 g before adding the trim; which gives us about 4.15 g of yarn per motif.
The yarn distribution between MC and CC is about the same, but I’d say I used slightly more CC than MC. The trim ate up about 30 g of black yarn. So, estimating the amount of fingering weight yarn for the shawl as pictured, you will need: -100 g of MC ( about 400m) - 60 g of CC (about 240-250m) You will also need short circular needles 3.0 - 3.5mm for the motifs, and same size needles on a long cord for the bottom trim only. Gauge - not that important, but I got each motif approximately 20 X 12 cm.
Techniques used: garter, short rows, decreases/increases.
