Did your grandma or aunt ever make you the famous Phantex knit checkerboard slippers? I feel like we always had 1,000 pairs at our house and the more people I speak to, the more I find that we weren’t the only house to have these!

I searched and searched for months to find a crochet version of my favorite house slippers and I couldn’t find anything even close to what I wanted. So I sat down one day and worked up a crochet version of these slippers and I am so excited that I get to share the pattern with people who cannot knit!

The Classic Checkerboard Slipper pattern comes in 8 sizes!!!

Toddler (S) and (L)
Child (S) and (L)
Ladies (S) and (L)
Mens (S) and (L)

There are plenty of pictures to provide you help with the color changes.

You will need an F (3.75mm) crochet hook, or hook size to meet gauge.

2 colors of any worsted weight yarn. For the pictures provided here and in the pattern, I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn in Linen and Tin Roof. Red Heart Super Saver or Vanna’s Choice works well with this pattern also, just make sure to meet the gauge requirements.

I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I do. It is near and dear to my heart and I put so much work into making it perfect!
