Classic DK Raglan Crew Neck Sweater. Age 6 - 14
Mid- Gauge Knitting Machine Pattern.
A Classic Raglan sleeve pullover in DK. Raglan shaping using full fashion decrease is easy to do and looks good. Also includes instructions for short row neckline shaping at the front neckline and sleeves. This avoids the “step” look and creates a neat neckline.
A great pattern for experienced beginners who want to experiment with short row shaping. It can be knitted as is or used as a canvas for picture knitting. I used up some scraps of yarn to add some detail in the rib. It also looks great with all over stripes if you would like to use up your scraps of yarn. You could even use self patterning yarn.
Skills required:
E wrap cast on, Transform stitches, Bind off, transfer, decrease, increase, hand manipulate stitches, Full Fashion Decrease, short row shaping.
This project was knitted on a LK150 using 100 % acrylic DK weight yarn. Any Mid gauge knitting machine can be used but be sure to check the gauge before you begin.
1x1 rib is used for body of this pattern. The neckband is knitted after the raglans are sewn together. If your machine has a ribber attachment, the ribbing can be made automatically. Hand knitting the ribbing is also an option.
This is a machine knitting pattern but can be adapted for hand knitting by knitting a test square using 4mm needles and DK weight yarn.
