Classic Jacket is a modern version of a knitted blazer with notched lapels, pockets, and ribbing details that flow from the top of the jacket all the way into the vented hemline.

Check out the shoulder details and that back vent! Options include pockets, buttons and buttonholes, and just how wide you choose to block out the lapels.

Classic Jacket is sure to become a wardrobe staple. Picture it with your favorite jeans or skirt. It’s the perfect cardigan to wear with everything and it’s super-comfy!

Classic Jacket is worked top-down in a seamless manner. Stability is built in as you go so that it keeps its shape as your wear it (a lot). The top of the back yoke is worked first, then shoulders are worked along the slanted sides of the back yoke. Stitches are picked up for the yoke fronts and the rest of the yoke and body is worked back and forth as one piece until the hem ribbing is split in the back. The pocket bottoms are set in right before the hem ribbing is started and the sides are stitched down after blocking.

Collar stitches are picked up from the cast on edge to add stability to the neckline since we don’t want that to stretch out.

Classic Jacket will look great in any yarn that meets gauge and has good drape and stitch definition.

This pattern has been professionally tech-edited and tested.
