Classic Journal Cowl
Journal with yarn!
Take a moment at the end of the day to knit a row of this cowl and reflect. At the end of the year, you’ll not only have a finished cowl to keep to you warm but also a record of your days. You may find the process of simple reflection while knitting can turn hard days into ok days or trying periods of life into just one blip that made you stronger during an otherwise happy year.
This beginner-friendly pattern utilizes purl stitches to create a meandering journey through the cowl while the majority of the work is done in simple stockinette stitch. Created in a tube, Kitchener stitch is used to finish it off and create a seamless cowl.
This pattern is a way to journal within a knitting project. One row per day is knit after answering a this-or-that question. The answer indicates whether one yarn is used or the row is marled. When finished, you’ll have a record of your entire year in a cozy, beautiful cowl.
