This knit and felt hat is knitted seamlessly using double ended needles, and is felted by simply washing!!
The pure wool fibers shrink and matt into felt just like a wash day sweater disaster!

Felted Size (Adults).
Small 50 - 54cm
Medium 55 - 59cm
Large 60 - 65cm Hats can be adjusted to fit perfectly during felting

Needle size
5 x 8mm (UK 0 /US 11) double ended needles
60cm cable needle (optional)

Yardage:-
Small / Medium 3 x 50gm ball color (150m Filzwolle)
Large 4 x 50gm ball color (200m Filzwolle)

If you wish to use a substitute yarn -
Yarn weight 5 or 6
Bulky / Chunky( sometimes called Craft or Rug) or Super Bulky / Super Chunky
12 -14 ply

Alternatively - Aran / Worsted weight held double ( 2 strands together) or triple.

If using a substitute yarn your project may felt to a different size, you may also have problems with the knitting pieces pockets etc felting shut. This can be avoided by putting plastic bags inside the project during felting.
