Since A.A. Milne’s classic Winnie the Pooh stories (and the associated illustrations) have recently entered the public domain in the United States, copyright issues are no longer a concern for this lovable friends for babies, young children, and adults alike! This is a crochet pattern for a blanket using the Overlay Mosaic technique, which uses two basic crochet stitches to create a thick fabric featuring a picture or intricate design. The blanket is worked with the right side facing at all times. Each row is started on the right and worked to the left, then finished off at the end. There are no color changes within the body of the blanket.
This pattern is beginner friendly, as it explains how to do mosaic (even if you’ve never done it before)! It includes a chart and instructions for reading the chart. It ALSO includes written instructions for the pattern if charts are not your thing! Also included are instructions to make a reverse image of the design on the back side of the blanket.
This pattern uses 2 colors of yarn and the example is made in DK (weight “3”). It measures 37” wide x 30” tall, not counting the fringe. This blanket can be made in any weight yarn, but a different weight will result in a different size in the end. The design is 176 stitches wide and 167 rows.
