Take your van to the beach and your board to the sea!

This pattern describes in US terminology how to crochet a classic surf van amigurumi, as shown in pictures, including all details and surfboards.
Finished size will be approx. 7,9” (20 cm) long, 4.3” (11 cm) tall, 4.3” (11 cm) wide, crocheted using sport weight cotton yarn, with hook size C (2,5 mm).
This pattern is also suitable for wool or acrylic yarn. The surf van in the pictures was made using cotton yarn by SMC - Schachenmayr Catania.

If you wish to make a larger or smaller version of this amigurumi, you can just use thicker or thinner yarn / crochet hook. In this case, you will need different amounts of yarn and different sized buttons and plastic canvas, than stated in the materials list.

Parts of this van are worked in continuous rounds, as well as in rows.

Skill level: intermediate (for crocheting, as well as for joining / pinning / sewing parts together)
Gauge: is not important for this pattern, just crochet tight enough so the stuffing will not show through the stitches.

Materials used:
-Crochet hook size C (2,5 mm)
-Yarn in white (approx. 40 gr, 100 m / 109 yds), teal (approx. 50 gr, 124 m / 136 yds), light grey, orange, mint (each approx. 22 gr, 55 m / 60 yds), black (approx. 10 gr, 25 m / 28 yds)
-Fiberfill stuffing, preferably a sturdy kind, 2 pearl buttons, diameter approx. 0.7” (1,8 cm), 2 red buttons, diameter approx. 0.5” (1,2 cm)
-Plastic canvas (7” mesh) 1 sheet approx. 13.5“ x 10.3“ (34 x 26 cm)
-Stitch markers, tapestry needle, pins, measuring tape, scissors
-Optional: sewing thread in white, black and light grey

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, surface slip stitches, increasing, decreasing, magic circle
