The pattern is an easy level and uses US terms. A knowledge of how to crochet is essential as it does not teach you how to crochet, it simply provides instructions to make the toy.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Bertie is approx. 15cm tall.

You will need:
- 3.50mm hook/E (US)
-10ply yarn (Worsted / Aran) > less than 50g in all colours

• ORANGE embroidery thread
• A pair of 9mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
I’ve used Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/8 in the following yarns:
o YELLOW = colour 21 pastel yellow
o RED = colour 40 tomato
o BLUE = colour 77 arctic blue
o HOT PINK = colour 47 pink
