Color Exercise: Knitting with fiber contrasting qualities; in this case, using a matte (non-reflective) yarn with a shiny smooth yarn, both in the same color family, to give greater dimension to the knit.

the flowers are knit petal by petal and then sewn together. the center is a single crocet meant to hold the flowers together. Then the scarf itself is crocheted and the flowers are sewn to it.

You will need 3 different skeins of the Silk Purse yarn. the pattern calls for 1 skein 88a Hush, 1 skein 103f Sulu Red, and 1 skein 26m Platinum. You will also need 1 skein of 57a Sorbet in the Silken Staw. These are all variations on red except for the white that you use in the center of the flower.

you will also need a tapestry needle.
