The Clermont Cowl is knit in the round in a reversible spiral rib. Knit in sport or dk weight, but you could use any weight you like. I prefer a loose gauge for a warm, airy fabric and a size that I can loop twice around my neck for a loose but cozy fit, about 42” around by 8” wide.
