Clever Cowl (Cullercoats)
I wanted to make this as easy as possible to knit and after a little trial and error I figured out a great trick.
Once you have the trick it’s much easier than it looks - you only use one colour per row and you only knit or slip stitches (no purling at all).
The original was both knitted in Cullercoats and is very bulky, perfect for a seafarer.
But you can make it as heavy or fine as you like.
It’s best if there is good contrast between the two yarns (no shared colours).
For the smallest size you’ll need roughly 100m of each yarn.
This pattern has also been used to make a big floor cushion and baskets - link to baskets instructions
