The Clicket Wood beanie is inspired by my favourite place to be: the woods. In fact, it’s named after one of my favourite woods to walk in here nearby my home in south-west Wiltshire, UK.

The Clicket Wood beanie is knit bottom-up in magic loop or on DPNs. It begins with ribbing, followed by a round of increases, and then 6 bands of colourwork incorporating some of my favourite things to be found in the woods: foxes, ferns and lots of mushrooms.

This is a great stash buster, with no colour needing more than 80 metres of yarn and most needing fewer than 30 metres. Most of my sample was knit with Drops Flora, Drops Nord and Cascade 220.

Size
This hat is designed to fit heads of approx. 55cm (21 ¾ inches) to 62cm (24 ½ inches). Minor size
changes can be made outside of this range by altering gauge. More major changes can be
achieved by adding or removing chart repeats and colourwork bands. The chart repeat is
worked 8 times in total, and for each chart repeat 21 stitches are cast on initially.

Gauge
35 sts and 46 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches
Measured over stocking stitch and stranded colourwork knitted in the round.

Needles
Gauge-sized circular needles or DPNs.
