Cliffridge Cardigan
This pattern is part of VERNAL: Collection of warm weather knitwear book. You can purchase all patterns in this collection as a print book with e-book combo at irmiandesign.com
The delicate lace pattern in combination with 1-by-1 ribbing on both front and back makes this lightweight open front cardigan a definite showstopper. Cliffridge is knit from the bottom up; short rows shape the shoulders and elegant three-quarter sleeves, which are cast on at the underarm and joined along the top with a 3 Needle bind-off.
One of my favorite yarns, Miss Babs Yummy 3-ply, works perfectly with Cliffridge – the round shape and bounce of this yarn create a nice drape without compromising the stitch definition.

Notes
- This cardigan is worked flat in one piece from the bottom up to underarms, then fronts and back are worked separately. Shoulders are sewn together. Cuffs are picked up and worked circularly.
- German short-rows are used for sleeve cap and shoulder shaping. - Knitters could use any other Short- Row method of their choice.
- Knitters may consider placing stitch markers between chart repeats.
- Slip stitches purlwise with yarn in back.
- A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.
