Low contrast colourwork is the defining feature of the Clifton Village hat pattern from the Mr B & Me collaboration collection, but the pattern works equally well for mid or high contrast colours as well. Hat can also be worked in just two colours.
SIZES AND FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
• Small – 18” brim (unstretched), 9.75” high
• Medium – 19.5” brim (unstretched), 10.25” high
• Large - 21” brim (unstretched), 10.75” high
Height of hat is adjustable, (to shorten do less ribbing, to lengthen add knit rows before crown decreases as noted in pattern).
MATERIALS
Yarn:
4 ply fingering-weight yarn
Suggested Yarn:
Mr B Hiddleston 4ply (75% superwash merino wool/25% Nylon) (100g; 465 yds/425m)
Yarn Amounts:
C1 – Tannery – 25 (30, 35)g
C2 – Shallows - 20 (25, 30)g
C3 – Erithacus Rubecula – 20 (25, 30)g
Gauge:
30 sts and 36 Rounds = 4”/10cm in colourwork and st st after blocking.
Needles:
US 1.5 (2.5mm) circular needle 16”/40cm or smaller
US 3 (3.25mm) circular needle 16”/40cm or smaller
US 3 (3.25mm) DPNs, one set of 4 or 5
