Climbing Cable Mitts
The Climbing Cable Mitts are fun to make and delicious to wear! The squishy cables add extra warmth, keeping your hands cozy and tempting you to wear them at home while sipping warm tea on a stormy winter day. These are a great weekend project and make excellent gifts.This pattern includes written directions for the following women’s sizes: small, medium, and large.
Gauge (unblocked): 8 stitches by 8 rows = 1 inch (2.54 cm) in cable pattern (P3, K4; use rows 1-12 of Wrist to test gauge)
Sizes: Woman’s Small (Woman’s Medium, Woman’s Large)
Finished Dimensions (Unblocked): circumference = 5.25in/13cm (6.15in/16cm, 7in/18cm); length = 7.75in/20cm (8in/21cm, 8.5in/22cm)
Materials:
~Set of four US 2 (2.75 mm) double pointed needles or sizes needed to achieve gauge
~~Hawthorne Fingering Kettle Dye 80% superwash fine highland wool/20% nylon; 357y/327m per 100g skein; Color: Goddess, 1 skein. Samples used approximately 120y/110m to 180y/165m of skein.

~Two stitch markers
~Piece of scrap yarn to hold thumb stitches
~Tapestry Needle
~Your preferred blocking tools (optional)
Knitting Techniques you should be familiar with: C4B, K2tog, M1L, and M1R. You should have some knowledge of thumb gussets, know how to join and knit in the round, pick up stitches, and cast on stitches using the backward loop cast on method.
