Clio hat & cowl
Clio is the muse of history and I can imagine her wearing and using a hat and cowl just like these ones. It is ever changing but stays the same just like the making of history.
Clio is a warm winter hat and cowl, surprisingly simple to make. It is vertically striped but the colours are worked one round at a time so there is no colourwork involved. This hat doesn’t look like much but when you put it on it changes the look entirely. Also you can get completely different looks by varying the number of colours you use. More than 2 colours gives you a more scrappy looking hat and using a self striping yarn changes the hat again. It is a great hat to play around with as it works up quickly and has a unique look each time.
Clio comes in the following sizes…
HAT
Small (S): 21” 53.5cm
Medium (M): 22” 56cm
Large (L): 23” 59cm
Extra large (XL): 24” 61cm
You need 400 - 440yds of DK or sports weight yarn for the hat (about 200yds of each colour).
COWL
Circumference:
