A casual everyday cardigan with squishy garter stitch details and a neat double-knit buttonband. Short rows are my favourite technique in the world, and this cardigan uses two different types of short rows to create angular details within which the shoulder shaping is hidden.

YARN: Heavy aran / light chunky weight yarn, or equivalent using yarns held together. Sample used 1 strand of worsted weight yarn held together with 1 strand of brushed alpaca. If using 2 yarns held together, you will need the below quantity of both yarns.

Approx. 723 (777; 833; 890; 946) (1036; 1101; 1165; 1244) metres / 791 (850; 911; 973; 1035) (1133; 1204; 1274; 1360) yards.

Sample shown in Lily Kate Makes AXIS worsted (90% merino, 10% suri alpaca, 100m per 50g skein) in shade Blazar held together with Fyberspates Cumulus (74% baby suri alpaca, 26% Silk, 150m per 25g ball) in shade Coral.

If using sample yarn, you will need 8 (8; 9; 9; 10) (11; 12; 12; 13) skeins of AXIS and 5 (6; 6; 6; 7) (7; 8; 8; 9) balls of Cumulus.

GAUGE: 16 sts and 19 rows to 4 inches / 10 cm in stocking stitch blocked. Suggested size 6mm.
