The pattern is not very complicated, the real challenge is the large number of stitches per row towards the end.

The necessary amount of yarn and the actual size of your shawl will strongly depend on the chosen yarn, pattern version and needle size. Here are some suggestions to help you choose:

• for a neckerchief use the smaller version and yarn that won’t grow too much with blocking, like silk or cotton.
