This cute little shawl is perfect to wrap around your neck and shoulders. In cotton it provides a wonderful summer shawl for keeping the sun off those delicate shoulders or keeping the chill night air at bay; in silk it becomes something elegant and worthy of accompanying you to functions and formal events, yet in wool it will keep even the winter cold out! Just a nice length Cloud Illusions will cover your back and wrap around and can be worn in many different ways. It is so much more than a scarf and yet not too deep to be difficult to wear - this really is the silver lining to any cloud!
Gauge: Using the Walk Collection, detailed above, my gauge was 19 stitches to 4 inches. Gauge not critical and any yarn is suitable for this pattern though needle size and yardage requirements will vary. Beads: Approximately 325 beads required for the small body/small lace version (large body/small lace – 425, small body/large lace – 425, large body/large lace – 525). I would recommend Miyuki size 5 triangles, Miyuki size 6 seed beads or even Miyuki 3mm cubes for lace weight and 4mm cubes for fingering weight yarn. You will also need: Stitch markers, a 1mm cro-tat hook for applying your beads, yarn needle and blocking pins and mats Size Options: The lace section can be started at either 181 or 241 stitches and you have the option to use either just the small or both lace sections with either the small or large body.
This pattern is both charted and has full written instructions with bead placement indicated throughout.
You will find it useful to print the pattern on a colour printer however bead placement can be added with a coloured pencil or highlighter.
