This is an elegant lace beret that goes a bit beyond the normal lace - it is complex enough to intrigue, yet easy to understand. This is a lovely pattern for cooler weather, and would make a perfect holiday gift.

A fitted beret may be made from this pattern, or a slouchy one. Altogether, about 200 yards of yarn is needed.

On size 5 US needles, the gauge is 5.5 st / inch in worsted weight, or 7 st / inch in sport weight yarn.
