On cold and cloudy days, some extra coziness is more than welcome. This easy to knit, reversible cowl is the pinnacle of coziness with its right side being as fluffy as a cloud, and its “wrong” side being a surprisingly interesting lattice. This textural pattern uses only basic stitches (knit, purl and slip), making it a perfect project for skilled beginners. The prototype was made with chunky yarn, but it could be knit with any yarn weight from DK to Jumbo, as the pattern is adaptable in size and can be made as big and as long as desired. You can decide to make it short for a single loop cowl, or longer, to wrap it twice (or more!) around your neck.

Yarn
218 yards (200 m) of super bulky yarn were used to create a tight 2-loops cowl.
Any yarn weight and any yardage can be used.
Shown in Uru.Yarn Chonk; Colorway: Porcelain.

Difficulty
Skilled beginners: only basic stitches are used (knit, purl, slip) and one easy special stitch every 8 rows. This stitch is explained in words and pictures. Two joining options are suggested, one for beginners and one for more advanced knitters.
