Children’s tube socks with a simple ribbed cuff and panel of ever decreasing cable sections are reminiscent of the twisted sections of balloon animals. This pattern was designed to perfectly complement the “clown barf” yarn custom dyed at the request of my 8 year old son.

One of my favorite things about tube socks is that with no heel shaping, you can knit them up for kids without having to worry about them outgrowing them faster than you can knit. As written, these will socks fit a large range of sizes, from knee socks on my 2 year old daughter, to beyond my son’s size 4 men’s feet!

The pastel sock in the pictures was knit with Bernat Baby Jacquards, a DK / 8 ply yarn on US 0 needles, and they fit my size 8 feet as ankle socks!
