Clownfish with Sea Anemone
Boxfish Handicraft Crochet Pattern of Nino the Clownfish with his Anna the Sea Anemone
(2 PDF Files. Anna = 5 Pages, Nino = 11 Pages)
A TRUE SYMBIOSIS
Clownfish and sea anemones simply belong together. The sea anemone is the home of the clownfish. The sea anemone protects the clownfish from predators with its poisonous nettles. The poisonous nettles cannot harm the clownfish because it has a layer of mucus on its skin. The clownfish’s predators serve as food for the sea anemone. The clownfish consumes the food remains of the sea anemone. No wonder that it is possible to live well together in this symbiosis. In nature, fish and sea anemone usually stay together for several years.
