Clownie
Send in the Clown
Isn’t it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground
You in mid air,
Where are the Clown?
(Lyric from the song Send in the Clown)
Isn’t it rich - in colour!
Are we a pair - of needles
Me here at last on the ground –
knitting this simple pattern
You in mid air - with yarn flying over
Where are the Clown - this striking 3 colour shawl?
My dear father nicknamed this shawl Clownie!
A salute to Mosaic!
If you can knit in 2 colour! You can easily master
Mosaic knitting!
Mosaic knitting” was coined by Barbara G. Walker in
the late 1960s. It is a simple technique of using 2
contrast colour yarn and the patterns are created by
slipping stitches from the stripe below without working
them.
This is a simple pattern of using 3 different colour to
create a striking shawl!
I have been enjoying this technique for some years
and I have created this pattern to share with you, this
simple yet effective way of knitting!
If you haven’t try Moscia knitting before, I hope this
pattern will encourage to try this simple technique!
Enjoy!
