Crochet Mug Cozy
Materials used:
Size 8/H crochet hook
Est. 100 yards worsted weight yarn

Cluster st: YO hook. Insert hook into st and draw another loop, pulling through the stitch ( =3 loops on hook. YO and draw yarn through first two loops on hook (=2 loops on hook). YO, insert hook into next st in row, YO and draw loop through the st (=4 loops on hook). YO and draw through first two loops on hook (=3 loops on hook). YO, insert hook into next stitch in row, YO, draw loop through hook (=5 loops on hook). YO, draw yarn through two loops on hook, repeat x2 (leaving one loop left on hook).
Ch. 40.
Row 1: In 3rd ch st, hdc. Continue with 1 hdc in each ch st to end, turn.
Row 2: Ch 4, sl st in 3rd hdc from previous row, ch 3, skip two hdc from previous row, sl st in 3rd hdc from last sl st, repeat to end, turn.
Row 3: Ch 4. Cluster st in ch3 space, ch 1, repeat from to last ch3 space, ch 1, dc in last st from previous row. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 4, sl st in ch1 space, ch3, sl st in ch1 space, repeat from to end, placing final slip stitch into the 3rd ch from the previous row. Turn.
Row 5: Repeat row 3.
Row 6: Repeat row 4.
Row 7: Repeat row 3.
Row 8: SC in all st, totalling 38 sc. Weave in ends, sewing together the ends of the hdc row together to join in the round. Leave long yarn tail(s) on other end of the mug cozy for fastening, including a button to use as a fastener if desired. Secured yarn tails can also be used to tie top ends of cozy together in a bow fashion to fasten mug cozy.
NOTE: If desired for a coffee mug with no handle, sew a seam from bottom to top to finish mug cozy, making sure to weave yarn ends in upon securing the seam.
Sized to fit a typical 8oz coffee mug.
