Here is another of the shawls that came from my Summer of Shawls.

We all have odd bits of fingering weight left over from various projects that are not enough to go all in with but too much (and too pretty) to toss. Clymer is a great solution: use that great color in the stripes that frame the easy chevron lace in this garter stitch shawl.

Worked from the tip to the base, bands of chevron lace are set off with variegated stripes; the shawl is finished with a picot bind off (optional, of course).

The finished shawl has a wingspan of 52” after blocking, and a center back length of 22” after blocking. You can certainly make the shawl smaller or larger by working fewer or more repeats of the lace and stripes; the amount of yarn you use will, of course, vary.

You will need 425 yards of fingering weight yarn in Color A and 95 yards of fingering weight yarn in Color B. The sample shown is worked in Superwash Merino Fingering by Cloudborn Fibers in Stormy Skies (Color A), and Single Disk Cat Print by Schoppel-Wolle in Color #2173 (Color B).

A US size 5 (3.75mm) 32” circular needle and a removable stitch marker are the tools needed for this project.
