Coambulo (Latin for “walk together”)

The CoAmbulo Socks are toe-up, knee-high socks crocheted in the round, with stretchy elastic cuffs to keep the socks up.

Photo tutorials and links to videos are provided for special techniques and stitches. Mosaic crochet charts are included for the inset mosaic crochet patterns along the top of the foot and around the leg. Bonus appendix provides additional guidance on how to do the inset mosaic crochet used in this pattern.

Skill level: intermediate - attention required to read pattern details and make adjustments for customization.

Pattern is written in five foot width sizes for circumferences of 7-12” (18-30 cm); seven ankle sizes for circumferences of 7-12” (18-30 cm); nine calf sizes for circumferences of 12-22”(30-55 cm); with additional customization to appropriate foot and leg length. Please be sure to read the Fit & Measurements section and the Notes & Tips boxes of the pattern for guidance on sizing and adjustments to improve fit.

The pattern is written for 2 colors (main color and contrasting color) of fingering weight yarn. Select highly contrasting colors to best showcase the mosaic crochet pattern. Sample shown uses white as the main color and multiple colors for the contrasting color. A wool/nylon blend or other sock yarn with good stretch and elasticity recommended.
