Coast Highway Cowl
Connecting the coastal communities of the Pacific Northwest, Highway 101 curves through rain forests – tall trees, ferns, vines, flowers – and along cliff edges, hovering over sand, rock, the Pacific’s waves with the vast sky filled with mountains of clouds. This lightweight cowl uses two fingering weight yarns, combined in a lace and a garter-like panel, and is finished with a picot binding. It’s a perfect travel project or a sweet way to remember a beautiful road trip.
Size: approximately 36-38” circumference by 13” length, measured blocked. Will fit most adult women.
Materials:
Color A: approximately 300 yards fingering/sock
Color B: approximately 175 yards fingering/sock
A note about yarn: I recommend a tonal or simpler yarn for Color A to show off the lace work, and then a fun, indie-dyed or textural yarn for Color B.
Skills: beginning lace (yo, ssk, k2tog)
