Originally developed for the 2021 Puget Sound Local Yarn Store Tour, this cozy, shawl collared vest was designed with outdoor adventures in mind. A unisex style with just a little colorwork and a choice of zipper or button front - it may turn out to be your new favorite.

Cestari Mt. Vernon Collection Bulky, 100% Fine Merino Wool (approx. 106 yds 96 m/100 grams

5 (5, 6, 6, 7) skeins MC and 1 skein CC

Needles
40” circular, US sizes 9 and 10.5, or size needed to obtain gauge. These can also be used with the magic loop method for the armhole borders. If preferred, a 16” circular US size 9 needle or DPNs can be used for the armhole borders instead.

Gauge
12 sts and 20 rows = 4 inches 10 cm in stockinette st on larger needles

Removable stitch markers, stitch holder, separating zipper or buttons, sewing needle and thread

The vest is worked flat, from the bottom up in one piece. the collar and bands are picked up and worked together using short rows for shaping.
