This is an asymmetrical shawl with a lace body and an irregular garter stitch border. Worked in DK weight yarn, this project will grow so fast you won’t even believe it’s done already.
I worked on this design while enjoying a family vacation in Australia, visiting the most wonderful places and beaches. Everything about this shawl sends me back to that trip and brings memories of our time there: the colors, the sea-shell lace, the wavy edge. In my mind, even the shape of the shawl looks like one of those beaches.
I hope this shawl reminds you of a paradise you visited. Maybe it’s not a beach, maybe it’s a concrete jungle? I just hope you enjoy the time knitting it and that the finished object will bring you back to a happy time.

This pattern has written and charted directions.
