Coastal Zip Up
This year, my sister and I surprised our parents with a family trip to the Sunshine Coast. Although not really a coast, it was a nice getaway to a slower pace of life. We spent time outdoors, hiking and exploring local markets. We also ate family meals, played board games, and lounged around our little farmhouse. This zip up was so versatile, I wore it for the entire trip.
Although designed with simplicity in mind, this pattern includes little nuances that elevate the quality of the finished piece. It features double-layered cuffs, collar and hems, as well as large pockets and of course, a zippered front opening.
There are 9 sizes included in the pattern.
XS (S, M, L, XL) {2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL}
Bust circumference: 36 (39, 44, 48, 52) {56, 60.5, 64, 68}” / 91.5 (99, 112, 122, 132) {142, 153.5, 162.5, 172.5} cm
5” - 7” positive ease in the bust circumference intended
Finished length is adjustable.
Note that sizes 4XL - 5XL were not test knitted.
The sample was made using two strands of sport weight yarn held double. - Katia Concept - Kashwool, colourway “Camel (301)”
- 2,244 (2,542, 2,684, 2,984, 3,284) {3,584, 3,884, 4,184, 4,484} m / 2,454 (2,780, 2,936, 3,264, 3,592) {3,920, 4,248, 4,576, 4,904} yds
Alternatively, some test knitters were able to achieve a desired fabric using either a heavy worsted or aran weight yarn (or alternative combinations to achieve gauge). Yardage listed reflects this single stranded version.
- 1,122 (1,271, 1,342, 1,492, 1,642) {1,792, 1,942, 2,092, 2,242} m / 1,227 (1,390, 1,468, 1,632, 1,796) {1,960, 2,124, 2,288, 2,452} yds
Please be advised that yarn requirements and finished size measurements are approximate. Actual values may vary based on garment size, yarn, needle size, and gauge.
Model is a size 32” bust, wearing the size S.
