You might need to play with the hook size and thread size for this piece, depending on the size of your coaster you are covering. The first one I made was quite a bit larger than I expected as I picked up a larger steel hook than I had intended to use, as well as using size 10 crochet thread. I suggest size 20 for this project, though a size 30 with a slightly larger hook would possibly work.

Addtional Notions:

• A circle piece of glass or plastic to serve as the coaster itself. It should be about 3 mm thick, and about 4-5 inches in diameter.
