COATS for CUPS
These are cute, quick to knit and keep the. drink in thecup hotter for longer. Pattern includes ribbed, duplicate stitched and fairisle versions.
YARN, GAUGE, SIZE & MACHINE
2 gauges are presented. The first, using fingering weight yarn that gets a gauge of about 7 stitches/10 rows/inch in stockinette works for standard & Passap machines. The second, using worsted weight yarn that gets a gauge of about 4 stitches/6 rows/inch in
stockinette works for mid-gauge and bulky machines. A ribber is nice but these are small projects so hand latching rib will also work. My cup is a very standard size at 10.25” around and 3.75” tall. The patterns as given will fit many cups that fall into this range.
Instructions for altering the patterns are included. The yarns I used are brown marled from Stephanie’s for the ribbed coat, Herrschnerr’s Homestyle for the initial coat and Herrschnerr’s Homestyle plus Mary Maxim Starlette for the fairisle coat. Bulky/mid-gauge numbers appear first with standard/Passap numbers in brackets.
