Cobblestone Cowl
Pick up a kit for the yarn to make the cowl on the Marianated website!
Inspired by cobblestone streets, the Cobblestone Cowl is an ideal backdrop for color play. Mix and match any two colors and switch colors as needed to build a cozy scarf of any size. With a repetitive yet interesting stitch pattern, the cowl is a quick, engaging project that can be adjusted to work with any yarn.
The pattern includes instructions to create a scarf or cowl, to seam it and/or add functional buttons, and to work it to any size. It’s worked so that there’s no extra ends besides the start and end of each color, and the pattern has close-up photos of the edges and stitch pattern.

Sample

Thanks to Marianated Yarns for providing the yarn for the pattern sample!
Yarn and Other Materials
The sample used five 3/4”/2cm buttons (optional) as well as 574yds/525m/220g DK weight yarn total; 274yds/251m/100g in color A and 300yds/276m/120g in color B; color B is a set with 50yds/46m/20g in each of six colors
The pattern is designed to work with any color style and any level of contrast. Pick a high contrast set for a sharp look or go low contrast for some cool color play. Combine two solids, a solid with a variegated, or two variegated yarns.
You can also change it up - use one background and a series of contrast minis (as shown in the sample) or switch out the background rather than the contrast. Work the entire project in one color or vary up the contrast and main colors as desired. It’s an excellent scrappy project - start with scraps where you have a different amount of each color, and introduce new colors as you finish your scraps.
