The uneasy peace had come to an end. The Spider looked at her. She looked at the Spider. Slowly, deliberately, it took one step towards her. She always knew it would come to this. Resigned to her fate, she slid the deed to the house across the kitchen floor. This home now belongs to the Spider. But then, she was forced to admit, the house had always belonged to the Spider. She had been the interloper all along.
The Spider moved into the master bed, and she moved into his old home under the sink. One day she noticed a tiny light glittering in the corner. She reached out a long, segmented leg towards it. Strange, she thought to herself. Had her legs always looked like this? ‘Don’t be silly’ she told herself as she pulled the shining golden crown towards her. Of course, the Spider Queen thought, ‘Of course this is how it should be.’
Stepping out from beneath the sink she stretched her legs, her faceted eyes sparkling.
Cobwebs is worked top-down with an exciting new construction that calls for working the sleeves as you come to them on the sleeve separation round, rather than after finishing the body. Spider Queens do not have time to get stranded on sleeve island!
The pattern gives instructions for working the body with or without waste shaping.
As the sweater is worked in stranded color work throughout, it has very little stretch. If you find that you are between sizes, choose the larger size to work.

Do not cut corners on your gauge swatch. It is very important that you swatch in the round, and block your swatch to check your gauge. I recommend using the opportunity to make a sleeve for your favorite travel mug that matches your fabulous sweater!
Gauge
18 sts and 20 rounds = 4” in stranded color work on larger needles and stockinette on smaller needles. Note that gauge should be taken on a blocked swatch.

US8 16” and 36” Circular Needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
US6 16” and 36” Circular Needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
Note that you will need 2 pairs of the larger needles to complete the sleeves.
