Coclia
The Coclia Scarf is knit circularly as a tube with a unique Spiral Steek.
During finishing the steek stitches are cut following the spiral path,
magically adding length, orienting your stitches on the bias, and
resulting in a parallelogram shape. Three options for finishing the
edges are provided. The scarf is knit at a larger gauge than what would
normally be called for with the recommended yarn, giving the finished
fabric a beautiful drape. The color work motifs are improvised using
combinations of 1,3, 5 or 7 stitch color runs. Three variations are
described. Free from being tied to a chart, the adventurous knitter
can focus on the flow of colors passing by. Each Coclia Scarf will be
a unique creation! Directions for a larger stole size are also included
Instructions for a scarf and larger wrap size are included. you will need 80-240 grams of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift or a comparable “sticky” fingering weight wool.
