Coffee in the Mist Shawl
I’ve designed this shawl to showcase four x 50g balls of naturally coloured alpaca Shetland. This beautiful yarn has been created by my local mill and the colours come from blending different colours of alpaca with white Shetland lambswool.
A limited number of Coffee in the mist shawl packs are available in my Etsy shop: if you buy the pack, the pattern is included free.
The yarn is a 2ply fingering weight, which softens beautifully when its worked, washed and blocked.
The shawl is easy to make with a relaxing stitch repeat. The shaping is achieved by simple increases and leaving some stitches unworked. The pattern includes stitch counts row by row, so that you can check off your progress.
I’ve also included information on yarn substitution with guidelines on the total yardage/metreage required for each of the three colours.
Gauge: Work the first 8 rows as a swatch. The wingspan of the small triangle should measure approximately 12-13 cm (5 inches) unblocked
