Coffee Sleeve
This is a pattern for those insulated coffee mugs you can purchase at gas stations. I like to have something soft to grab when I’m drinking my coffee from them, so this project came to be. This could also be used for similar-sized drinking glasses.
One must-use technique is that it has to have a stretchy bind-off. I’ve included the instructions for the one I did, but there are other methods out there for it. If you find my way too frustrating to work, then feel free to use your own, as long as you use a stretchy bind-off. There is no shaping, so the stretchy bind-off will ensure that the top of the cozy slides onto the mug with no excess tug-o-war.
The gauge is really unimportant and is only given for those who might be a really tight knitter to the point that they would need to go up a size to avoid making it too small.
This project takes very little yarn, about what one would use for a mitten or fingerless mitt.
Go crazy with it if you want. Stripe it, use self-striping yarn, variegated yarn, whatever.
