While searching for free patterns online, I noticed there aren’t really any good options for free chevron hat knitting patterns. The few chevron knitting patterns I was able to find (for socks and gloves) did not offsett the cuff at the start of the chevron portion of the pattern, which tends to pull a straight cuff into a zig-zag (rather than allowing cuff to remain straight). This pattern addresses the zig-zag cuff issue by adding triangle offsets between the straight cuff and the start of the chevron section, allowing the cuff to remain as straight as possible.
