My Maker Darklings, do I have a morbid treat for you! Every day may be Halloween for you, or even if it’s just a once a year thing, you can plush stuff up with this pattern to make crocheted coffin pillows.
This pattern includes the instructions for 3 different sizes, as well as the embellishments shown.

Pattern details are as follows:
Level: beginner/intermediate

Finished size: sizes are approximate (personal tension, stuffing, and edging choices will alter measurements a bit)
Large: 20” tall, 14” at widest point, and 5” deep
Medium: 15” tall, 10” at widest, and 4 ½” deep
Small: 12 ½” tall, 8 ½” at widest, and 4” deep

Supplies:
• Size 4.5mm (US 7) hook for worsted weight (sized down from “recommended”). Use a 4mm or even a 3.5mm if you work loose (or want a tighter stitch for more heavy duty use instead of decorative pillow-please note, a smaller hook will make the end result smaller)
• Stitch markers, or similar
• Yarn needle
• Polyester filling
• Worsted weight yarn (weight: medium/4)- I used Loops and Threads (and some old CraftSmart Value- the stiffer yarn worked better in holding shape, but it did give me some road rash. Be warned). Large pillows require approximately 520m (570 yards. 2 balls of Loops and Threads). Small pillows require a little less than 260m (285 yards- one L&T ball). Edging and roses can be stash busters.
Stitches/Abbreviations Used- US terminology
• St: stitch
• Ch: chain
• Sc: single crochet
• Hdc: half double crochet
• Dc: double crochet
• Tc : triple crochet/treble crochet
• Sl st: slip stitch
• dc 3 together (double crochet 3 together)
• F/O; finish or fasten off
• BLO: back loop only
• FLO: front loop only
• Numbers in brackets at the end of the row dictate the number of stitches you should have e.g.- the first row of the coffin will have (26) stitches. Diagrams will also be provided (because it’s a heck of a lot easier at a glance for you visual folks)
